If you write clearly, award yourself the Clear Writing Style seal of approval.
Place our Clear Writing Style Seal on your website and documents to show you have worked hard to make your writing style clear and easy to read. The Clear Writing Style seal is a self-certifying standard, measured by our StyleWriter, plain-English editing software, endorsed by the Plain Language Commission.
To display the Seal, join our Clear Writing Club and write to the highest standards. Your membership includes free StyleWriter licenses and a free Writing Course.
The Clear Writing Style Seal of Approval
You have to write to the highest standards to earn the right to display the Seal. Over 90 percent of business and government writing fails to meet the StyleWriter-approved clarity standard.
To accredit your work, you must be a Corporate, Associate, or Individual member of the Clear Writing Club. You can then display the seal on any text that reaches the acceptable standard of 70 on StyleWriter’s Clarity Index. You can use it on both in-house and public documents. Use it on your websites, leaflets, standard letters, committee reports, media releases, and annual reports. Use it on all your important documents.
There’s no extra cost for each use of the Seal. One annual membership fee covers any document you write or your organization publishes that meets the Clear Writing Standard.
To help you reach the high standard necessary to win the Seal, we have a free Writing Course and StyleWriter – our plain English editing software.
• StyleWriter checks your text for over a million style and usage issues and shows you how to edit your text to reach the clarity threshold required to display the Seal of Approval.
• The free Writing Course lets you train all employees in clear writing techniques.
When you become an associate or corporate member of the Clear Writing Club, you’ll have three complimentary StyleWriter licenses (worth $585) to measure your writing style and show you how to edit your documents.
The latest StyleWriter now checks your text for over a million issues. It’s become the style guide for Microsoft Word users.
You can also add your house-style rules to StyleWriter.
